Discount Calculator: Find the Sale Price Instantly

Never miss a deal again. Whether you are shopping on Black Friday, calculating B2B wholesale margins, or just figuring out how much that “20% OFF” coupon is really worth, our calculator does the math for you.

This 3-in-1 tool allows you to find the final price after a discount, calculate the exact percentage saved if you only have the prices, or reverse-engineer the original price from a sale tag.

💡 FAQ Section

How do I calculate a discount manually?

The formula is simple. To find the discount amount, multiply the Original Price by the Discount Percentage (in decimal form).

For example, to take 20% off $100: $100 × 0.20 = $20.

Then, subtract that savings from the original price: **$100 – $20 = $80**.

Our calculator does both steps instantly.

What is the "Reverse Discount" mode?

It finds the original price.

Sometimes you know how much you paid and what the discount was, but you lost the original tag.

If you paid $80 after a 20% discount, simply select “Find Original Price”, enter the values, and the tool will reveal that the item was originally $100.

Does this work for "Double Discounts"?

Yes, but you need two steps.

If a store offers “20% OFF plus an extra 10% OFF”, you cannot just add them to make 30%.

First, calculate the 20% off the original price. Then, take the new price and calculate 10% off that.

This is called “stacking discounts,” and it usually results in a smaller saving than simple addition.

Can I use this for Tax calculations?

Technically, yes.

While designed for discounts (subtraction), the math for percentages works the same.

To calculate Sales Tax, you can use the logic of “Negative Discount” manually, but we recommend using our dedicated Sales Tax Calculator for better accuracy with state-specific rates.

Knowing the final price is good, but knowing exactly how much cash stays in your pocket is better. We display a dedicated “You Saved” box in bright blue, helping you visualize the real value of the deal in dollars and cents.

💡 Pro Tip: Retailers often use “psychological pricing” like $19.99. When calculating discounts on these numbers, rounding errors often happen in your head. Use this tool to see the exact penny-perfect price before you get to the register.
